Lets not try to kid ourselves. Rudd and Labor is more likely to do something in support of Human rights than the conservative parties. Nelsons bleatings are only taking place because he knows its the Government and not the Opposition who is held accountable in this case. The Current Opposition if it were in Goverment would put economic considerations before human rights. Its like the current sitation where the Opposition pretends to be the party of the battler. I am sure that if a poll was put as to which party would be be more likely to support Human rights over economic considerations, the conservatives would come a resounding last. The Opposition is seething that it cant seem to lay a glove on Rudd who has taken a measured and responsible approach to the issue.
Cheers
