Pennant is a short-term continuation pattern that marks a small consolidation before the previous move resumes. These patterns are usually preceded by a sharp advance or decline with heavy volume, and mark a midpoint of the move. You could have the same feeling once see the drawing below:
At the end of breakout, a 37 cents rise should be expected, which means SP = circa $1.05！
