shane, I agree completely that nature has it's own negative feedback system, that being water vapour which is the predominate greenhouse gas. Whilst climate change is an ongoing process, I don't accept the claims that we are going to see the drastic changes in the sort of time frames proponents of AGW want us to believe. I think that the natural negative feedback systems are robust enough to adapt to the varying incoming solar radiation unless there is a dramatic change in the output by the Sun or a major unexpected shift in our orbit. Without the greenhouse effect, the natural state of the planet would be frozen, so what I see as the major threat is that somehow the gases that at present maintain the temperature within a livable range will begin escaping to space causing temperatures to plummet. We can see how quickly this can happen when clear skies can cause soaring temperatures during daylight hours only to plummet overnight. As soon as sufficient water vapour builds up we experience warmer temperatures overnight and relatively cooler temperatures during the days.
