When poor announcements are made, small/microcap CEOs do not phrase the outcome(s) as black and white bad even though it could be the case- you'd never know, the market is left guessing and in truth there may still be hope , but the market already sensed something amiss. So on first bell, the sp dives pretty sharply then when it stabilises, the traders/punters start coming in , the sp moves back up and when investors see that, they may even top up. But it usually doesn't sustain and the sp falls back again and this time, the traders sells for a quick profit and some nervous investors would also pare back their holdings. The sp ends the day a little higher than after the lows of the day reached shortly after the first bell...and then from day 2, the sp could well consolidate with a downward bias. That we saw with 4DS last week and reflect typical sp movement patterns after a poor announcement. So selling on first bell did the trick and buying shortly after on intraday low (requires some judgement) and then sell down again after the quick rebound....then wait. It was better than doing nothing and the sale doesn't betray the trust and faith you have in the stock.

Dow continued to climb a wall of worries and making new record highs. But caution remains.
