I have recently discussed Cameroon with Smyth...
I have been waiting for his permission to post an email I received from him in reponse to some of these questions...in particular the involvement of Glencore and Afex Global.
I have received that permission...email follows.
You will see the email supports the current position in the latest (and prior) updates.
Cheers!

trade4profit (lol, I added that bit)
A few months ago we asked PricewaterhouseCoopers Europe to confirm the title of Turnberry to Matanda. They advised CityView that SNH does not have the authority to grant or cancel a permit : this can only be done by a decree signed by the Minister or the President
On October 11 2007 the President formally confirmed Turnberry's rights
There has been a huge power struggle going on between SNH and the Ministry
In the interest of maintaining good relationships with all the key groups in Cameroon , CityView has been telling all parties that it is willing to be flexible
and would trade in its Matanda rights for a better alternative . This is stated in our Shareholder Update
CityView has been invited to go to Cameroon to meet with the President and SNH to discuss various proposals being offered to us
What has happened to CityView of course is that we have moved up to another level . Matanda can never be a company maker , whereas the Falcon proposal
in Angola is what we have been dreaming about
We will go to Cameroon as soon as we can , but I must finish the Angolan financing first
Regards
Mark
