unfortunately LNCs "ultra-clean" fuel is in fact ultra-dirty in greenhouse terms and will be priced out of the market under any emissions trading scheme. That is if it isn't priced out of the market on current economics. Oil is produced at far lower prices than it sells at - far cheaper than this coal to liquids rubbish.
As for lithium - its not actually consumed as energy, its the fuel tank, not the fuel. The pattern of consumption is entirely different and there is no need to worry about it running out. Electricity is the energy, and it is far cheaper than oil, CTL or any other fuel. Its also much lower in emissions - even when produced from coal-fired generation.
