I can find (thousands) of houses under $100k around OZ

So with the first home owners grant most people can afford to buy a house.

Its just they are spoilt pre madonnas and wont drop their expectations down a level or 2 to get into the property market.

Those that say its all too hard and cant afford a city house , go buy one in the smaller towns....find a solution instead of crying in the corner.

100k is about $200 week mortgage....whats so hard??

well bad luck , get up earlier, find another job, do something about it.



if people stop whinging, moaning and making excuses they may actually get somewhere.

At 20 years old I bought an absolute clapper.....I hated it....you wouldn't let your dog live there.

It cost me $22,000.

I rented a room out for $20 week and slept in the other room, which was actually the kitchen.

It was ok but the rats were annoying at night and the lino floor was a little cold and hard, then there was the water pipes knocking all night.....

I worked 3 jobs (85 hours a week) for about 3 years and paid the clapper off in full.....just so I could sell it and move into something a little nicer.

Sold it in the 4th year for $48,000 and so the investment in property began.

Too many wanting too much these days.....
mind you im only talking 12 years ago.

The problem is too many lazy, spoilt whinging people these days that wont go live wherever they can afford to live.

Other wise just rent and stop whinning or go get 3 jobs u lazy sods.

Always want it on a platter.

Maybe if some stopped drinking, buying big tvs, punting, eating out etc they may be able to afford a better house, or a house at all.

Mind u i love all of the above.

But I worked hard first....and still do.

People say they cant afford the 500k houses and house prices are way overpriced.

Well ok lets drop the 500k houses to 400k......20% drop.

Those whining still wont afford the 400k house as they have no deposit, dont earn enough and spend to much time whining.

Difference between 500k and 400k mortgage is very little.....but diff between a 50k deposit and no deposit is huge.

Saving is the key.
