I have noticed that the cost per case has fallen from about $45 to $40ish over the last couple of years, while China has been a booming new market. I can see how the growers caught the ear of the ACCC. Not sure if there are other reasons, like US costs etc. I was concerned TWE might be reducing the quality of their wine, but this makes sense as well, as a possibility, especially if growers are feeling under pressure in these good times for wine. Obviously very positive or innocent explanations are possible as well. The enquiry will find out either way I am sure.
