Brokers have to report daily short sales to ASIC - this would be where Shortman gets its data.
Going back quite a few years ago one can sell short and not cover for weeks!
The daily amount of "shorts" reporting goes to ASIC - I am not aware of another
entity getting daily reports from all the brokers.
