Christine Blasey Ford did not claim to be raped. She did not claim attempted rape.
This is the problem, you get these impressions from the media, which deliberately misleads you.

Christine Blasey Ford claimed that someone pushed her, restrained her for a few minutes, layed on top of her while clothed, and groped her. She claimed this was a "sexual assault". She was fully clothed, she said she had a bathing suit on under her clothes, she never claimed that her clothes were removed or that she was anywhere close to being raped.
I am not justifying this behavior (which I doubt happened).
But is is not rape or attempted rape, even as she describes it.
