Depends on multiple factors such as how many fracture intersected, fracture orientation, which parts drained already. Water incursion will kill a horizontal just as quick as a vertical.

Hi sandbar, Are you a geo? I’m just saying 1500m through a reservoir is better than 100m as a basic comparison. Im my limited understanding water is not a huge problem in either a vertical or horizontal. A number of PV past producing wells produced plenty of water too.
