SUR 4 cent div ex 10.7.02, page-9

Following advice received from ASX, Perth Office that 7 business days
are required for dividend record date, Sun Resources NL ("Sun")
advises Shareholders that the special dividend of 4 cents a share
will be paid to Shareholders on the register as at COB 5pm WST on
Monday 22 July 2002.

Please be also advised that ordinary shares recently acquired by
Directors in the last 7 days that are included in the Appendix Y
which was lodged with the ASX on 10 July 2002, will not participate
in the special dividend.
