So does that mean that, as far as your ASX-listed investments are concerned, you do *NOT* directly own the shares, but your intermediary does ??? I presume you do not receive CHESS statements every quarter ( detailing, for each company, your beginning balance, plus / minus any shares you bought / sold ) ? What is the name of what you said intermediary ?
That's the only reason I can think of why GXY (or any ASX-listed company) would ask for your info.
Maybe GXY is trying to find out who are the shorters ( apart from what's already publicly known ) ??
Anyone else have an explanation, apart from what Thesi speculated ?
