Thanks for the link Roypig,

Whilst my original reasons for getting into tin were demand issues - mainly 1. the increasing use of solders and the trend towards lead-free solders in particular and 2. the changing diet of Indians and the jump in increasing imports of canned foods (tin-plated) for their preservation qualities, demand issues are probably a more important factor.
