I would think so TGN - taking share investment advice from worried residents is unwise; we always recommend others do their own research... it's easy enough to connect with families living in gasfields who can tell you about their daily life experiences or perhaps the Utah Midwives who can talk about the increase in miscarriages and infertility, or the local doctors dealing with increased breathing problems, asthma and skin problems... racehorse breeders too dealing misaligned jaws in new foals and lung problems. I'd also recommend chatting to insurance brokers in the same areas and finding out what risks they cover or more tellingly, what they won't cover without an expensive bespoke policy. Oklahoma having gone from 2 earthquake a year to 2 per day is a case in point for insurer feedback.
With regard to divestment, I recently went on to five councils in N. Ireland along with divestment groups in order to encourage taking funds from this large public pension pot, out of fossil fuels - the economists showed that the fund would perform 'as well or better' even without taking into account additional investments.
