Whether population is 1.3 or 1.325B is neither here nor there. Yes the numbers are huge. But no way does china have a fast growing population. Like europe it is rising very slowly.
Indians are the opposite. They are predicted to exceed China in about 20 odd years!!! Gone from 320 million to over 1Billion in just over 60years!!!
Only 2 countries in the 1st world have fast (i.e. +1.5%)growth in population. USA and Oz... both due to high immigration levels. Hence, Oz not as susceptable to GDP growth collapse as many european countries. USA is bust!!
I will get around to reading Chip goodyear's thesis.
