But I take it you supported the use of the bomb on Japan which brought to war to a quicker close
Now for a brief history on the Kurds
Kurdistan is not a seperate country but is a seperate region within the Republic of Iraq
Theregion has been controlled by various countries for centries
Around the 1920's the Kurds waged a war against British occupation. In the break up of the Ottaman Empire the regions was divided between Iraq, Iran and Turkey.
The kurds have wage war against these 3 countries since then in a bid for independence
During the Iran Iraq war where Iraq was backed by the US as the US did not what Irn's fundamentalism spreading through the middle east, the Kurds sided with Iran.
Prior to this and after the Iran war the Kurds continued attacks against both Iraq and Turkey.
The gassing of the Kudish villages was done to crush these attacts (not to different from the reasons for dropping the bomb on Japan)
Both were drastic actions that took lives in an attempt to stop a war and save more lives
The closets the Kurds came to obtaining complete self rule was the period between GW1 and GW2 when they were protected by the UN enforced no fly zone and developed a strong economy by taxing oil trucks taking oil from Iraq to Turkey.
Since GW2 they have now lost this autonomy and must once again become part of Iraq and surprise surprise once again they are starting to once again wage a war for indepence
