Atleast 85% of vanadium production goes towards the manufacture of high strength steel products, high strength, and heat resistant alloys for  aviation and electrical components for developing and existing industries. Energy storage with Vanadium is still in a gestation period.

Since China has banned the use of vanadium extraction from slag, a by-product of steelmaking

, they need to use beneficated vanadium ore products.

From memory, China produces 50%+ of the worlds Vanadium products already.

Hence why TNG only just today have announced another offtake deal with a Swedish company. Not China.
