oh and jesterinoz, the flaw in your analysis is who is going to buy aed for $700m?
the only people that could possibly pay that price are the chinese, and as the article shows they have effectively been barred from buying into australian resource assets until further notice, which could be another 6 - 12 months or possibly even years.
no aed oiler has the cash, or willingness to acquire aed's assets. they could be lucky to get their debt back in a fire-sale.
