So put your hands up if you think the recent 'publicity' stunt of the Russians laying claim to artic seabed was actually just a stunt or a legit claim.
It's not a matter of if but rather when will they start drilling the ice caps.

Prediction... in the next 50 years we will see a war of huge proporations over claims for artic oil reserves.
Whilst russia and china will tell it how it is (we want the oil and don't care what other countries think) the US will kick off the war after the others have completed exploration and installed a few 1000 rigs. they'll claim that they are mearly stopping the artic from being plundered and that the naughty evil men need to be stopped. Yet if they win I bet they won't be turning off any artic oil taps in a hurry.
