an article from NY this morning, headed "Mining Firms Walk Tightrope" stated the following:
"Our forecast earnings have fallen following lower-than-expected copper, iron ore, coal and diamond production in 1Q08," says ABN-Amro analyst Warren Edney about Rio Tinto. He and other analysts say they believe that mining companies are underplaying the impact of dwindling demand in North America and Western Europe and overplaying the sustained demand from China.
Is RIO really worth as much to BHP?
interesting read.
