Where to from here for the US market in the short term hinges more I believe on the performance of the FAANG stocks...all of them are not looking good from a technical POV. Facebook and Google are on the brink of violating their 5 year trendline, Netflix has about 30% downside if it were to scale back to its price at the start of the year. Relatively speaking, Apple and Amazon are doing a little better but are also turning south. The FAANG stocks are the "bubble tulips of the 2010s" just as bitcoin took the world by storm and then suffered a crash. The reality is that gravity would impact them at some point of their ascendancy...just a matter of time. Conventional valuation metrics were never taken seriously on them as they were 'master of the universe' stocks just as Goldman Sachs were kings...but EVENTUALLY fundamentals catch up to them.

At the end of the day, VALUE is based on what people are willing to pay for them. Mainstream press will say all the good things one day and the day it sours they find reasons to suggest they're actually worth the value they've been fetching.

....and because of this, you can sense the end of the bubble is approaching...but like everyone else, you continue to be in denial and hope for the best.
