Not sure how Aussie rules differ from Canada but in Canada if your approached by a company just exploring possibilities it would be highly confidential with no release necessary. If you put yourself up for sale they would issue a release saying, "They are Eploring Strategic Alternatives". If another company tells you they are going to make a take-over bid - and once the bid is public - management would normally have to issue a release stating whether or not they support the Bid or recommend shareholder reject it.
Just a guess, but I would figure trip to Canada would include Sprott. Maybe a Spott financing combined with a TSX VENTURE listing for the new issue.
