I live in Victoria, and travel to NT regularly.

On the street, the wise keep away from potential harm. Police will not even look if you're in trouble.

It's easy to armchair about Sudanese.

Think about it - the trouble is compounding - that is THE PROBLEM.

There are vicious black thugs, no question. But all these these blacks stand out like dogs ears.

So attitudes tar all with the same brush. People FEAR them.

Imagine the brick walls facing an honest Sudanese (there must be some) looking for work.

Even the potential employer would be calculating the effect on his customers, his business, his livelihood - the risks.

MORE worriesome is the homegrown untouchables - Aboriginals.

It's not safe to walk at evening in Katherine, Tennant Creek is descending too despite the "social worker" ratio nearing 1:1; even Mitchell St requires caution. Forget Roebourne, Halls Creek.

Police have withdrawn from the liquor outlets - "there's nothing we can do".
