WPL have no interest in taking over HDR and their new upbeat approach to Mauritania is as you said, to have the region accurately valued into their share price quickly in the event a takeover is attempted. It could also be because they have been approached by a suitor of HDR and could be trying to increase the value of their 10% holding but thats just a another one of endless possibilities.
HDR are in a position to sit back and consider all available funding options. With $30 million in the bank there need not be any rash decisions and i believe the best decision will be made and i dont necessarily think a rights issue to all shareholders is the best decision.
So between now and mid year we can enjoy the fruits of more exploration without concerning ourselves with funding issues.
