Looks like the minister is playing a very diplomatic role. Hopefully Segal is over there working his charm and advising the facts of the project.

Authier project: the Minister of the Environment not decided for a BAPE

The new Minister of the Environment has no fixed position on the proposed Authier lithium mine project in La Motte.

Unlike her predecessor, MarieChantal Chassé does not intend to recommend to the government that the mining company Sayona Québec submit to a BAPE, at least not yet.

The issue has been brought to the attention of several stakeholders, but she intends to deepen her understanding before making a decision.

Her firm indicates that she understands that there are issues of social acceptability related to the Authier project and that for the CAQ, the exploitation of resources must be done with this acceptability.

In addition, no request for authorization has yet been filed with the Ministry concerning this project.
Once it's done, she'll have three months to announce her colors.
