You are wrong. The reduced viral load is for acute infection. Once the virus sleeps in inactive reservoirs that’s what drives chronic immune response hence causing exhaustion, so called “ aging of immune system”

if you had a clue about medicine science you would understand what chronic inflammation does to body. It’s the biggest independent mortality risk factor. 

Chronic inflammation kills! Causes cancer, heart disease  etc

so if you can take away the source of chronic inflammation you will reduce mortality.
