Although I don't totally disagree with the sentiment re the guy's experience, needs to be remembered that although AMU is a producer they are not the operator of any of their holdings - they employ other people / businesses for that.

So this aspect is not of the same importance that it might be for other business - with the likes of GT providing the knowledge needed. Maybe what the company has realised is that they have no issue with understanding, finding, and producing oil and gas. What they DO have an issue with is investor sentiment. In which case this could be a good call.

Like everything, time will tell.
