Acts 2:20-21 - The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Now I expect you are aware of this area and the counter arguments many put before the JW's in this area over the words Lord and Jehovah.
I note that the NWT has Jehovah in both these Lord references in the Acts here.
So some questions arise - From my understanding, Jesus will be returning as per the Acts 2:21 here, so should the Lord term here be Lord as in reference to Jesus?--------------
Wotsup, it is beyond question who Peter referred to as he nominated Joel as the prophet he was quoting. Jesus had not been named as the Messiah when Joel wrote his prophecy.
(Acts 2:16-21) On the contrary, this is what was said through the prophet Joel: ‘“And in the last days,” God says, “I will pour out some of my spirit on every sort of flesh, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy and your young men will see visions and your old men will dream dreams, and even on my male slaves and on my female slaves I will pour out some of my spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. And I will give wonders in heaven above and signs on earth below—blood and fire and clouds of smoke. The sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and illustrious day of Jehovah comes. And everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved.”’
Here is where he quoted from.
(Joel 2:28-32) After that I will pour out my spirit on every sort of flesh, And your sons and your daughters will prophesy, Your old men will dream dreams, And your young men will see visions. And even on my male slaves and female slaves I will pour out my spirit in those days. And I will give wonders in the heavens and on the earth, Blood and fire and columns of smoke. The sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood Before the coming of the great and awe-inspiring day of Jehovah. And everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved; For on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be those who escape, just as Jehovah has said, The survivors whom Jehovah calls.”
The NWT is not alone in recognizing the divine name appears in the ancient manuscripts of the Christian Greek Scriptures.
Bible translations in over one hundred different languages contain the divine name in the Christian Greek Scriptures. Many African, Native American, Asian, European, and Pacific-island languages use the divine name liberally.

From my research, Jehovah is really a title for LORD, not God's name at all.
---------
Wotsup, LORD and GOD are titles. Jehovah is God's personal name.
