Heck, this stuff really gets you excited!

The video highlighted the very thing I said in my post a day or two back - hydrogen is simply much less efficient compared to battery storage. Converting between hydrogen and ammonia won’t improve that - it will only make it worse as conversions will always have losses. If you closely review the assumptions in the video you will find they are very generous - real world efficiencies with hydrogen will be significantly less. And yes, the video does contain information that is informative to most people.

With all of that said, hydrogen does provide a long range that will be useful in certain applications. For your average car driver however, they aren’t going to pay an exhorbitant cost to have it without some good reason. I’m happy for FMG to throw a small amount of money at hydrogen, but I’d prefer to see them throw it at buying the right lithium deposit instead.
