LauncherOne Prepares for Take-Off
Ladies and gentlemen, we're thrilled to announce that the relationship between LauncherOne and Cosmic Girl has reached new heights. This month, we officially commenced our captive carry test flight campaign — one of the last major milestones before our first space shot in 2019.
Cosmic Girl’s successful flight on November 19th was the perfect appetizer before our Thanksgiving celebrations. Not only did the two mated vehicles “fly like a dream,” according to our chief pilot Kelly Latimer, we were also able to collect extremely valuable data from the instruments onboard the aircraft, in the pylon and on the rocket itself. Plus, the flight profile aligned perfectly with our expectations from previous simulations. We couldn’t have asked for a better day, really.
Between the remaining flights in our captive carry campaign and additional hotfires of our fully integrated stages in Mojave, we still have some hard work to do before our upcoming orbital mission. Now, though, we’re closer to space than ever before (literally).
In the spirit of the season, we’d like to take a moment to share our sincerest, warmest, most love-filled thanks for our amazing team. Every day, we recognize and wholly appreciate their work ethic, precision, creativity and ingenuity. Ultimately, that’s what will get us to orbit.
