    Hi vintage
I have mentioned a few times regarding optimisations that can occur at Sconi re Co if Co sulphate goes "off the boil" as you put it. The addition of a small hydrogen reduction autoclave and furnace can convert part or all Co solution as it exits SX into Co briquettes or powder.
By the late 2020's if Co use falls in batts, which is not a proven point yet even SK and LG have shelfed 8-1-1 for now, there will be quite a few Cu/Ni sites that have Co as by-product coming to the end of useful life. Voisey Bay is a major case of this the expansion into underground deeps is only going to extend life to 2032. Goro will prob be shuttered by then and many other smaller Ni sulphide deposits, apart from the ones mentioned in the article, will be gone or close to it.
There are many other uses of Cobalt apart from batts and even before batts came along use was increasing. By the late 2020's if uptake goes along projected lines even if Co % in batts goes down it will still be a significant proportion of world supplies and with EV use still in the climb stage due to EU legistrated phasing out of ICE's.
So don't worry vintage your investment and ongoing support in this company will be in safe hands.
