Yeah but that 'save more lives' approach provides an undesirable evolutionary result and defeats the purpose because it interrupts evolutionary processes like Natural Selection.

The theory of natural selection provides that reasonable method of evolution.
Natural selection essentially states that "the strong survive."
The basic idea is that when change occurs, those organisms best suited to the new circumstances will thrive.
Those who are not ideally suited will not be able to compete.
The three types of natural selection are directional selection, disruptive selection and stabilizing selection. Natural selection is when organisms adapt to the environment and pass down these adaptations to their offspring when they breed.
