Thanks gosouth for your reply, I believe I was trying to pick your brains i

nstead of doing some research of my own. I have no doubt that the Board has acted for some benefit or other~ but for whom or what I have no clue. I'm sure my basic maths is not the point. But what is, is what I need to read up on I guess.

Your answer seems to imply the consideration of human psychology...? This from Investopedia suggests that proposition:

    "Why Do Stocks Split?

A stock split is usually done by companies that have seen their share price increase to levels that are either too high or are beyond the price levels of similar companies in their sector. The primary motive is to make shares seem more affordable to small investors even though the underlying value of the company has not changed. This has the practical effect of increasing liquidity in the stock"

Still seems like a lot of effort for no real change

    Cheers,
    Pat
