Interesting and lighthearted view on EV's.
I know from a personal viewpoint I am experiencing this exact phenomenon. It does not make a wide and reliable sample by any means but...Most people (and my family included) I know are either just starting to buy or waiting for eg. SUV options. I have personally delayed purchasing any vehicles due to lack of current options knowing they are on the way next year or 2020.
