What rubbish and what a misnomer for the so called 'asylum seekers. They are no more than 'queue jumpers' who had the funds to go through numerous other countries on their way to the promised land, good old OZ. What a soft touch we are! Don't come here unless you come through the proper channels, just like everybody else!
By your comments Dave you have no idea what a concentration camp was really like. To compare the so called asylum seekers to the horific conditions under which Jews were tortured and murdered during WW11 in real concentration camps is absolutely disgusting and makes a mockery of all those who suffered torture, death in the gas chambers or death by starvation. I suggest you see Shindler's list (or read the book)or take a trip to Europe and visit these camps and see the horrific conditions for yourself. I can not believe that anybody in this century can make such a mockery of all the suffering these people were subjected to under the Nazi regime.
All State governments have failed to see the coming fuel crisis and have not invested sufficient funds in public transport and made some attempt to wean people of their vehicles, although it wouldn't be easy. I have been travelling to the football for years by public transport and more people than ever are doing the same. But I am still amazed at the number who still insist on going in thier own private vehicle.
