We all have different triggers...some buy with the trend...some try and pick trend breaks...some trade off volume...there are hundreds of different indicators so ma not sure its that self fulfilling.
"Based on yesterdays data"...every decison made is almost based on yesterdays data or last weeks or last years.
If you were going to interview someone for a job to guess their future you need to look at their past.
As one of the fed reserve officials said monetary policy is like driving in a car with the windscreen blacked out whilst looking in the rear mirror for info.
Nobody has a crystal ball but the past is the best evidence you have of the future.
Remember most markets run on emotion...thats one element that doesnt change in markets...people are always greedy or scraed etc etc...i see charting as being based on human emotions
