With Codelco having already recently begun exploration of their Maricunga tenements i believe a partnership is more on the cards. The costs of extracting copper have increased recently and Codelco is now shifting some focus to lithium extraction. I believe we have what they want (off salar land that would be suitable of ponds and and a dfs and eia which will speed up their path to production) and they have what we want ( as ceol for litio and partial finance). Maybe no news about MSBs ceol is due to the fact that something is being negotiated between the govenment, MSB and Codelco. And the codelcos ceol is leverage in the negotiations. All speculation I know but I just dont see why Codelco would waste money on exploring their tenements on the maracunga if they were not serious about extraction and a partnership.
