Up until a few years ago we had thousands of books, given my wife was a publisher and we're both great readers. All very well if you intend to stay in one house for a lifetime, but given we tend to move around a bit the effort and cost of shifting what amounted to a small library became irksome. In the end we donated 95% of sad books and made the change to Kindle's. Took a little while to get use to, but now second nature. Cheaper than hard copies by circa 40% from Amazon and no storage or moving issues.
