Weren't we having a similar conversation about the police a few months ago, Oz. Good cop - bad cop thread (from memory). I contended that there was something wrong with their Human Resources departments, given their selection process was/is flawed. Some naive posters poo-pooed me for daring to suggest that the percentage of bad cops was too high. Nevertheless, as the old saying goes: 'When the police break the law, there is no law.'
Given the power police wield in the act of preserving the law it is my opinion that they should be subject to twice the penalty when they break the law. And of course there should be a permanent separate body "outside the police" to investigate bad cops.
To clarify my position - I have the utmost respect for good cops, and none for bad cops.
