My question is, how do they (them) stand to benefit from this ie what is their end game?
Short selling to push the price lower, still requires a purchase on market at some point in time, so what is the rational behind this manipulation?
Are they hoping for a take over as they are the ones shorting shares, therefore they will not require an on market purchase? Because, in my mind this is the only exit i can realistically see.
Their are potential issues that may allow them to cover, but the risk seem huge compared to the return on dropping to say $1.50. Bear in mind this would basically be cash backed market cap.
I have heard comments around them trying to accumulate, but if you are selling to short this makes no sense to me at all. Illogical in fact.
Would love to see some decent conversation around what people have seen with other stocks that have been in a similar position in the past.
