I'm sorry - all I said was that we have given up freedoms in Australia -
We DID have the freedom to roam though Tasmanian highlands and NSW and Vic highlands --WHENEVER WE WANTED
we could travel in WA - the vast majority of it once you left the private property in the south - we COULD do that FREELY - whenever we wanted and go wherever we wanted as long as we respected private property - like livestock, and infrastructure
we HAD THAT FREEDOM
all I am saying is that it has gone -
that is a pretty simple concept and it's pretty readily known by any who did it in previous decades.
If you want another example - look at shacks on crown land - Tasmania, I also believe SA, and other states --- we used to have the freedom to go to places - plonk down a building and have it as our holiday house -
no more --- gone.

Do you know what a caveat is, it's conditions. If we abuse our freedoms then they are taken away, and rightly so. Thats the responsibility which goes with it. You know as well as I do that if the public had full access to pastoralist's land there would be all sorts of problems. The fences would be at risk, gates left open, windmills vandalised, stock shot, dams destroyed, fires lit, surely thats not what you're proposing????? If so then lets leave it at that as we are light years away from common ground.
