Just look at HIG. Price was manipulated down from 0.15 to 0.07 over a few months, then, suddenly, a take-over offer from a supposedly friendly supplier of funding at 0.105. Then they have the cheek to say they are doing us a favour of buying us out at a 43% premium. The independent directors rolled over straight away.
