The eastern side of Tas and the irrigation area in the Macquarie valley is already bone dry, but with rich soil and low infrastructure costs, makes a perfect salad bowl, much more efficient use of water than piping it over a thousand kilometres to a few whinging multinationals growing cotton and grapes in the desert.
