We are reaping what we have sown in sport. When kids get a trophy just for just participating it becomes nothing special. When I was a kid the best or better players got rewarded and the others had something to aspire to and if you didn't make it you learnt to accept defeat, get better or try harder! The hunger seems to have dwindled due to no incentive to be better because you are dragged back to the rest of the pack as not to offend anyone or hurt their feelings..... As long as we reward mediocrity thats what we'll get!!
