I remember it used to be disgusting: private detectives, one year separation, lawyers dragging the thing till your last cent or last breath -whichever came first; but usually the last breath. Animosity, embitterment, murder... dreadful, barbaric, medieval stuff... and then you had (still have) the Catholic ("say no to all but pederasty") church that won't recognise divorce and when so much of your dealings with the Govn't is connected with the church, all these dealings would stop because you're after a divorce. Mafia breeding ground!
If people can't stand each other they should just go their separate ways -with extreme care from both for the kids, though.
