Where there is a will there is a way, and given the disruptive potential of this technology you'll have everyone looking to rip-off this tech.

Patents are also difficult and expensive to administer. AKP won't be able to pursue every company across the globe that wants to rip off the tech, the best way is to ally with a few key players to ensure that their tech is strong enough to survive copy-cats.
