"Our life expectancy has increased beyond the age of 40"
Life expectancy has been a lot higher in Ancient times. Spartans only allowed members of their high council to sit if over the age of 60. Reason I mention it is life expectancy fell during the Middle ages in the so called super powers at the time.
One being England from which we take to be the norm for the whole world in Australia. The argument is therefore invalid no offence. Hope we are all taking this the right way i.e. being a simple discussion hehehe.
