My take on all this , bit of a boys club . Lads sitting on the Terrace “hey word is someone is gonna make a pass at such and such”. Oh goody tell all of my rich mates to all buy we will double up sweet. Hey what? The deal didn’t go through. Boys all get together again . What do we do? Hey I’ve got an idea let’s 249D them like we always do, and sell the assets and leave an empty shell. 

CMM has always said they will develop the project , why on earth would you sell on an increasing gold price with a solid 10 year base and blue sky potential for an opportunistic bid?

It’s a well organised raid and the old 5 degrees of separation rings very loud between all parties involved as far as I can tell
