I agree, that is the reality of the situation corporate social responsibility IS mutually exclusive with maximizing returns to share holders. The best compromise is to spend a bit on advertising and lawyers to give the punters the impression they're getting a great deal, nobody reads the fine print these days, so many wickers out there to capitalize on.
